Re-Finished Table
American Chestnut antique bed-side table with original pulls. I stripped the stain and varnish down to bare wood and sanded to reveal the "new" wood grain. One light coat of cherry stain was applied. The piece was completed with a high gloss polyurethane. Completed September 2013.
Closeup Of Detail Work
I used a Dremel bit to carefully finish the detail work and maintain the original integrity of the piece.

Oak Drawers with Original Brass Pulls
Well-built tongue and groove drawers with oak sides and drawer bottom.

Side view
The re-finished piece looks entirely different than when I picked it up at an antique store. I was amazed by the quality and grain of the wood and carefully restored it to its original condition, but better. The stain and varnish was a gaudy dark brown and hid the true beauty of the wood.
